You obviously love Finn and think he can do no wrong, and I have no doubt you support that endgame relationship that Glee has told you that you have to ship, so I won't even bother with listing all the reasons why Finn's resorting to violence was wrong, and why romanticizing that kind of behavior is even more wrong. But please be aware that as a strong independent woman myself - being lied to and having my own agency stripped from me by supposed friends and ex-significant others is definitely not something I'd be okay with. Good for you if you are. There's a very big difference between accepting help from people and having other people make decisions for you without discussing them with you first. Rachel, sadly, falls into the latter category and has since mid season 3.

I was not a particular fan of Brody as a character, but the blatant "slut-shaming" of his occupation was disgusting. Should he have been called out for lying to Rachel? Yes. Should he have been shamed by everyone for being an escort? Hell no!

Dr. Shebloggo is actually extremely fair in her reviews of the mess that it Glee. The show is problematic for so many reasons, and it's refreshing to read someone who isn't paid by FOX to blindly praise the show, but actually offers opinions more in line with the general audience who, sorry to say, has not been impressed with the show or the poor characterizations this season.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583232612899692330.post-72471564174635157362013-03-22T18:08:56.385-04:002013-03-22T18:08:56.385-04:00Women can have others help them and still be indep...Women can have others help them and still be independent and worthy of respect.
---------------
Since Tina had to drive her to Oberlin and to see Carmen
Since Tina and Jesse had beg Carmen to give Rachel a do-over
Since Finn had to put her on a train to New York
Since Santana had to figure out what her boyfriend was up to
Since Finn had to beat up the boyfriend to get rid of him

Where's the independence?
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583232612899692330.post-59502761914091161092013-03-22T14:32:56.696-04:002013-03-22T14:32:56.696-04:00"But I'm not entirely sure I'm on boa..."But I'm not entirely sure I'm on board with Marley voicing concern that Jake liking Chris Brown's music might be a red flag that Jake is capable of domestic abuse."

This didn't happen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583232612899692330.post-8717232345273676752013-03-22T12:10:37.447-04:002013-03-22T12:10:37.447-04:00Wow first review I read of you and I can already s...Wow first review I read of you and I can already smell your bias and tricks a mile away. What a waste of my time. I think I'll stick to professionals and people that understand TV and storytelling.

Keep victimizing Brody and making Finn into a villain tho. It's not going to Brody him any more relevant/engaging to watch. Lea's scenes with Dean Geyer are an embarrassment and that break-up scene between them was cringeworthy and some of the weakest stuff I've seen on the show.

Sidenote: As I remember Finn came to NY after Santana called him to figure out what this Brody chap was about. He came, confronted Brody, was about to walk out to tell Rachel but then Brody stopped him AND STARTED THE FIGHT. Also you need to stop bringing your faux-feminism into this because I think you are not helping at all. Contrary to popular belief, not all strong women dislike when people (more specifically men) do things for them. Women can have others help them and still be independent and worthy of respect. Finn had the right to defend himself after Brody started to attack him and threw a lamp at him.

Flop review, flop opinions, you tried xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1583232612899692330.post-72022394020093709632013-03-22T07:02:25.352-04:002013-03-22T07:02:25.352-04:00I hatedhatedhated it when Rachel learns that Santa...I hatedhatedhated it when Rachel learns that Santana called Finn to "defend her honor" and once again it's played out as totally okay and romantic. Bitter I Kissed A Girl reminiscence. And I hated the gigolo shaming too.

Other than that, this episode was sort of great ? Funny, endearing (since last ep, I'm finally starting to like the New New Directions...)... I was afraid when the brought up the Chris Brown thing but I think it wasn't handled too bad.

And the Santana-Kurt-Rachel friendship threesome is one of the best thing to ever have happen to this show. And Creep was beautiful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
