Haiku Wednesday on Thursday

Not only do I never post haikus anymore, here I am posting one on Thursday. It's like Haiku Wednesday means nothing to me anymore!

But, inspiration struck, and so I bring you a haiku about Sam Evans from Glee.

Dumb, nerdy, or vain?
Is he or isn't he gay?
Sam, I Am... confused.

Good day, all.

Haiku Wednesday: the Borrowed Edition

It's that sometimes-celebrated time of the week again, gang! Haiku Wednesday! And to make this much easier on my syllable-counting brain, Entertainment Weekly just happened to post 12 haikus today, submitted by fans who wished to wax poetic about our dear departed friend, Lost. Here are my favorites:

Oh, squirrel baby
Button eyes and random bones
Claire will miss your smile

- submitted by Brian Cavanagh

I love Hurley like
Han Solo loves Chewbacca
He'd get what I mean.
- submitted by Rebecca Parker

Daniel Faraday
Time is always on his side
'Til his mom shot him.
- submitted by Lindsey Washburn

Wrap it carefully.
Use a damp piece of clothing.
Whither Leslie Arzt.

- submitted by Brett Taylor

These delightful people made this installment of Haiku Wednesday fantastically easy. Thanks, guys!

Haiku Wednesday!

It's a Wednesday! That makes me want to haiku! Today's haiku is in honor of television's current trainwreck, the unsinkable Kate Gosselin on Dancing with the Stars.

Dancing Kate Gosselin
Half-heartedly gallumphing
A sore sight for eyes.

It's unfortunate how painful it is to watch her dance on that show. But she dances with an all-consuming sense of terror in her eyes and hesitance in every step. I wish she'd either have a breakthrough or just leave, so I won't feel guilty for being appalled every week.

If you'd like to see an accurate representation of her most recent dance, done to Gaga's "Paparazzi" (yes, you read right), check out Jimmy Fallon below. His impersonation is spot-on, minus the feeble attempt at The Worm and the goo-goo eyes he makes at the camera. Kate has yet to show us she's capable of such finesse and emotional resonance on the hardwood. I'm holding out, though.

Haiku Wednesday!

Necessary backstory: I write haikus about television, when I can. So! There's no guarantee that this will be a permanent Wednesday feature (on account of the "when I can"), but in honor of Alyson Hannigan's 36th birthday (you mean she's not still at UC Sunnydale?) today and the birth month of Buffy the Vampire Slayer 13 years ago, have two Buffy haikus, one Willow-centric!

There is one Chosen
in every generation.
Buffy, here we go...
(Season 1: Welcome to the Hellmouth)

Eskimo Willow
makes Oz's heart skip a beat.
They're instantly cute.
(Season 2: Inca Mummy Girl)
